Joy offers a combination of bellydancing, didgeridoo playing, and hula hooping... all while balancing another didj on her head! Turns out bellydance and didgeridoo playing use the same set of muscles! Joy demonstrates how the dance makes the music and the music makes the dance.
In 2006, I decided to see what the most common spellings are for that long stick that makes the booming/buzzy sound. To see how many of these spellings are actually didj-related, I also checked for combinations like "didgeridoo player". I searched on Google Australia to find which spellings are most common on that continent.
Now, when I google myself, it turns out this is what I'm most famous for!
It would be interesting to do this project again and see which spellings are gaining in popularity over time. Of course, the existence of this document will increase the count!

(June 2007) Last month I went to play didj during the day at the famous Red Rocks Amphitheatre near Denver, to play just for myself amid the rocks. I happened to stumble upon these guys with a train of carts loaded with music gear, all solar powered. It's called the Free Jam Society-- they motioned me right down to the stage and I gave this performance, which they video'd and recorded. This was a true 21st century goddess magic moment, with thunderclouds rolling in, the wind blowing in my face...
So in the spirit of the gift economy, you can play video and MP3s from this serendipidous day, for the low price of -- FREE. Listening to the recordings, sometimes I go "wow", sometimes it's kind of goofy and fun. The music is much more rhythmic than my previous CD "Sound Awakening", which fits into the sound healing genre.
